Membership By-Laws 
a) Membership Eligibility 
Any resident of the community of Seaforth and surrounding area who is 19 years of age or over, or any community group whose activities take place in the community of Seaforth and surrounding area, is eligible for Membership in The  Society. 
b) Membership Requirements 
   i) A Member is someone or a community group who has an up-to-date paid  Membership. 
   ii) A Membership must be renewed each year within 60 days of the Annual General meeting of The Society.
   iii) Membership in The Society is not transferable. 
c) Membership Responsibilities and Privileges 
   i) Members agree to abide by, and actively support, the purpose and  objectives of The Society. 
   ii) Members are eligible to participate and vote at meetings of The Society. 
   iii) A voting member may not vote by proxy. 
   iv) Notwithstanding section 3 c) ii) above, Community Groups are eligible to  participate at meetings, but do not have a vote. 
    v) New Members will be eligible to vote as of the second meeting of The                  Society following receipt of membership fee payment. 
   vi) Notwithstanding section 3) c) iv) above, new Members who are also  elected as an Officer will be eligible to vote as of the first meeting of the  Executive following their election. 
   vii) All Members will be entitled to receive a copy of these By-laws. 
   viii) Members are able to use Seaforth Community Hall facilities subject to  normally prescribed conditions. 
d) Members in Good Standing 
   i) A Member in Good Standing has been a Member for at least one month and has attended one meeting of The Society.
